FTX CEO is found guilty on all counts, but the Democrats who pocketed $37 million from FTX got off scot free
Once again, the Biden administration uses legal trickery to subvert true justice
The conviction of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) on all seven counts related to fraud and money laundering would appear on the surface to put an end to the investigation of the crimes that were committed by the leaders of FTX. A closer look at the facts reveals that the true criminal masterminds have used a dubious legal maneuver to escape any investigation of their misdeeds, much less any charges or convictions.
In the Sherlock Holmes story "The Adventure of Silver Blaze", a key detail used to solve an apparent murder mystery is that a dog did not bark during the night of the killing. The detective then deduces that the dog knew the person who was present very well, and therefore did not bark.
In this case, the "dog that never barked during the night" was the State Department, which omitted a campaign finance criminal charge from the paperwork when it asked The Bahamas to extradite SBF back to the USA. The Department of Justice then dropped the charge as it would violate "its treaty obligations to The Bahamas" to charge him for any crime other than the ones listed in his extradition paperwork. There should have been eight charges against SBF, but the final charge that would have empowered the prosecution to investigate the recipients of his “donations” was dropped.
In short, it is patently obvious that the Biden administration deliberately omitted this charge in order to stop the wheels of justice from turning in the direction of the Democrats who pocketed millions of dollars. The prosecutors would have asked difficult questions, such as exactly what did SBF get in return for the almost $37 million that he spent? He was the Democratic Party's second best sugar daddy in the 2022 election cycle, being outranked only by George Soros.
This is one more example of the Democrats using legal trickery and sleight of hand to elevate themselves above the rule of law. The Biden administration is by far the most corrupt administration in the history of the United States of America.
In the 6th century B.C. the philosopher Anacharsis wrote that "Laws are spider-webs, which catch the little flies, but cannot hold the big ones." SBF thought that he was rich enough to evade the law, but as soon as he ran out of other people's money, he also ran out of friends in the Democratic Party.
SBF was treated unusually well in one respect: he was arrested, tried, and convicted in less than one year. There are defendants charged for involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot who are still in prison awaiting trial. They have in effect served almost three years in prison with no trial, which is a crystal clear violation of their right to a speedy trial.
Meanwhile, most of the corrupt Democratic lawmakers who work at the Capitol have been re-elected, helped in no small part by the $37 million donated by SBF, as the January 6 protesters rotted away in prison. An entire election cycle for the House of Representatives came and went, and the accused rioters are still waiting for their trials. Congress is above the rule of law. The accused rioters are below the rule of law. Big flies and little flies, indeed.
